After close to a day outage is finally back as of Wednesday July 6, evening.

Instagram was down for several users worldwide since late on July 5, and while the rest of the app was working fine, users were unable to send or receive DMs on the app.

As it has been the norm, several users rushed to Twitter to complain about the issue, and what followed was a barrage of hilarious memes. 

"Its been 16 hours and instagram is still down," said Sahil Kime, an Instagram user.

They complained of receiving the same message again and again despite opening the DM. 

"Can Instagram freaking pull it together. I has been 11 hours that my Instagram has frozen...how long does it take to fix and the authorities are not saying a word," said unidentified another user.

The issue, that started last night, oddly enough, persisted till the day. 

"me waking up the next day finding that instagram dms still not working," said Lina.

While the issue has now been fixed, Instagram has still not acknowledged the problem
