•Using your IMEI Number
IMEI number is the short form
for International Mobile Equipment Identity Number. It is usually located on the packaging of the company or the battery.
You can dial *#06# on your device to get your IMEI number.
When you purchase a device the first thing you should do is save your IMEI number so you can easily retrieve it in the future.
Your phone must be connected to the internet and have its GPS activated to use this method. Even if the SIM card may be disposed it is very hard to tamper with the IMEI number.
•Built-in Solutions
Some phones come with in-built solutions from the manufacturer to counter stealing and loss of data.Your cell phone might have an inbuilt tracking provision or provisions for erasing all data or locking once stolen.
•Law enforcement Institutions
It is always prudent to report cases of stealing and violence to the nearest police station. You will be issued an abstract and the police will use their channels to track your stolen device.
