A Monday night, April 1, 2024, road accident at the Mamboleo roundabout along the Kisumu - Kakamega highway claimed the life of one Chavakali Boys High School student as several others suffered injuries.

The students were onboard an Easy Coach company bus.

According to reports verified by Now.co.ke, the deceased student died on the spot and was rushed to the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Referral Hospital in Kisumu.

The other injured students were rushed to nearby hospitals and dispensaries for treatment.

"My officers are at the scene while others are currently visiting different hospitals to ascertain the exact number of injured students.What we can confirm so far is that one student is dead," he said.
