Sleuths attached to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations(DCI), have launched investigations into an incident where two lovers died under mysterious circumstances.

In the incident that occurred on Monday evening, May 9, the two were found half-naked holding each other at a lodging in Pipeline estate, Embakasi.

Prior to the incident, the two had been ushered into the facility by the room attendant identified as Caroline Mbulwa in the wee hours of the morning, however, they failed to show up 14 hours after they had checked in prompting the room attendant to check if anything was amiss.

"However, the room attendant Caroline Mbulwa, smelt a rat after the two failed to check out 14 hours later. She walked towards the room as an eerie silence settled over the corridor usually humming with husky voices, punctuated by fits of laughter," DCI wrote.

Upon knocking on the door severally, there was no response confirming her fears that something was amiss, Ms Caroline immediately informed her employer who called in detectives based at DCI Embakasi.

The officers broke into the room only to discover the lifeless bodies of the two laying still. Preliminary investigations revealed that they may have been drugged before booking the room.

Forensic Crime Scene investigators processed the scene scientifically before handing the matter to their homicide counterparts who are set to unravel the mystery behind the death of the two.
