A fight broke out at the floor of the Nairobi county Assembly on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, after the legislators differed on house matters.

In a video that has since been shared widely across social media, the law makers could be seen exchanging blows as they tripped each other to the ground.

According to reports, Ngei Ward MCA Redson Otieno was opposed to his ouster as chairman of the Water committee, aiming his anger towards house speaker, Kennedy Okeyo Ng'ondi.

Otieno accused the speaker of bias, wondering why he was the only one ousted from the committee.

The MCA further argued that it is only the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party that could remove him from the committee.

In the widely circulated video, a faction of MCA allied to Redson could be seen fighting off another group of lawmakers.

An angry Redson could be heard shouting at the house speaker, "come and kill me. I don't fear intimidation".

Speaker Ken Ng'ondi was forced to adjourn the sitting.
