Education officials have on Tuesday July 5 dispatched to Sacred Heart Mukumu Girls High School in Kakamega County to probe  the deaths of two students died mysteriously.

In a report by Nation, Western Region Coordinator of Education Stephen Barongo confirmed that the team is  on Wednesday, July 6,  set to  submit the report to the Ministry of Education.

"We have instructed the ministry of education on the ground to visit the school and investigate the reports relating to the deaths of students and prepare a report that will be submitted to the Ministry of Education for action,” said Barongo.

The officials from the ministry under the Kakamega County director of education Dickson Ogonya are expected to interrogate the learners, teachers and workers prior to submission of the report.

The tension in school continues to intensify after 28 students were hospitalised with fever and diarrhea two months ago.

The parents of one of the  deceased student identified as Nicole revealed that their daughter passed on due to negligence from the school.

By the time Nicole's parents were informed of her worsened situation  it was already out of hand to seek treatment away from the school reducing her chances of survival.

Nicole's situation is similar to that of Cynthia caused by keeping her in school before she finally succumbed.

Cynthia will be laid to rest on Tuesday July 12, 2022.

The deaths, however, according to the sources who sought annonymity  are related to the outbreak of malaria in June this year.
