The wife to Kajiado Central MP Elijah Memusi, Stella Memusi, is dead.

She met her death in a road accident along the Athi River-Namanga road on the evening of Monday, May 30 while heading to her home at Kajiado past Isinya.

This was confirmed by  Kajiado County Commander Muthuri Mwongera who stated that the vehicle that she was traveling in rammed into a stalled lorry killing her on the spot.

"It is unfortunate that life was lost in the fatal accident that occurred at around 23:10 am. It is sad. I want to urge all road users to take personal responsibility for protecting themselves and protecting others. If a vehicle stalls on the road it is prudent and mandatory for you to put road signs that alert other motorists of danger ahead. It is uncouth and inhumane to just leave a vehicle along the road and endanger other road users, especially at night where visibility is not clear," Mwongera said.

According to police records, the stalled trailer had no occupants or any warning road signs when the accident occurred.

He also reported that the driver survived the crash, but was seriously injured and is at the Kajiado referral hospital for treatment.

The vehicle hit the trailer's left side causing extensive damage to it.

The two vehicles were towed to the Isinya police station and the body was taken to the Kajiado referral hospital mortuary.

Kajiado governor, Joseph Ole Lenku, was among the first to offer his condolences to the Memusi family over their loss and eulogized Stella as a cheerful and bubbly character.

"The news of the demise of Kajiado Central MP Hon Memusi Kanchory's wife, Stella, is devastating. It is sad that we had to lose such a bubbly lady through a tragic road accident just a few kilometers from her home last night."

"I stand with my brother, Hon Memusi, during this trying moment as he comes to terms with the loss of his beloved wife and mother of his children."

"On behalf of myself, my family, and the county government of Kajiado, I pray for the Lord's strength to overcome this monumental grief. We shall stand with the family and may they have peace in their hearts," the governor stated.

This comes barely a week after the death of Rabai MP, William Kamoti, also killed in a tragic road accident.
