Kalonzo Says He Will Not Participate in Azimio Running Mate Interviews

 Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka now says he will not take part in the Azimio One Kenya coalitions running mate vetting process.

According to a report by The Standard, the former vice president claimed that attending the interviews will be demeaning since he should be an obvious choice for the position.

“I want to tell Kenyans that I will not attend the said process. I find the entire thing demeaning to my person and will therefore distance myself from it, ” he stated.

His sentiments come barely days after the coalition's council appointed a seven-member committee to assist in the selection of a suitable running mate for Raila Odinga.

Led by the coalition's secretary-general, Junet Mohamed, the committee will be tasked with identifying and submitting the names f potential candidates to deputize Mr. Odinga.

The interviews are set to begin today, Wednesday, May 4, and end on May 10, after the selection is done Mr. Odinga will announce the winner to the public.

Among the members of the team tasked are, Archbishop Zacchaeus Okoth, Dr. Noah Wekesa, Sheikh Mohamed Khalifa, Beatrice Askul Moe, Michael Orwa and Bishop Peter Njenga.
