Police in Machakos have come to the aid of a needy form one boy who scored 403 marks in his Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE)

This comes after the boy identified as Simon Muthama Nzioki reported to Machakos Boys Secondary school accompanied by his grandfather without school fees and other necessary requirements.

What began as despair and frustrations turned into joy and celebrations after the officers led by commander Issa Muhammad organized an impromptu fundraising event in gesture of kindness.

The fundraising event that took place on Wednesday, May 18, saw the officers contribute Ksh 200,000 which will cater for his school fees and other educational necessities.

“As part of our social responsibility, the National Police Service in Machakos held a fundraising for a needy boy who scored 403 marks in KCPE but is disadvantaged because he comes from a poor background,” said Mr Muhammad.

Mr Muhammud also noted that they have 'adopted' the boy adding that they will also cater for his other needs such as transport to and fro during opening and closing dates.

“We do not only deal with crime. We are also compassionate and we assist the society in one way or the other. This is one of the ways,”
