ODM’s Esther  Passaris  is the most popular candidate in the Nairobi Women Representative contest, according to Infotrack  latest opinion poll.

Results of the survey released Wednesday  July 6, indicates that if elections were to be held today, Passaris would emerge victorious with 46 percent of the votes ahead of UDA candidate Millicent Omanga, who would garner 20 per cent of the votes.

In 2017 Omanga was eyeing for the Nairobi Women Rep seat but lost to Gender CAS Rachel Shebesh in the hotly contested Jubilee Party primaries.

Five years down the line and now under UDA Party, Omanga is determined to make a second stab to unseat Passaris.

Out of the 1,024 respondents that were interviewed  73 percent said they would elect Passaris based on her  experience and  development track record.

Passaris will be defending her seat for the second term after serving five years as a Member of the National Assembly.

In the senatorial race, ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna is way ahead of the competition with a 44 percent lead.

Sifuna is hoping to clinch the seat after he made unsuccessful run for the same in 2017 on an ODM ticket losing to Jubilee's Johnson Sakaja.

The poll covered all the 17 constituencies and 85 wards of Nairobi County.

The study also revealed that Azimio-One Kenya coalition is the most popular political alliance currently with a support base of 48 percent in Nairobi. Odinga's ODM Party leads in the city at 51 percent.

Deputy President William Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza’s popularity stands at 31. His UDA party recorded a popular rating similar to the coalition.
