The recent arrests of two touts and a driver by the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) captured on video hanging dangerously on a Buruburu-bound matatu has elicited mixed reactions from a section of Kenyans after a whistle blower identifying as Francis Muli blew the lid on the identity of the suspects.

The video which was circulated numerous times on social media showed the touts undertaking dangerous acrobatics while hanging on the door of the moving bus which sent shock throughout various platforms over the recklessness portrayed by the individuals.

Muli went ahead and tagged the transport authority on the video, revealing the number plate of the vehicle, route it plies and identities of the touts asking that swift action be taken against them to avoid endangering of more lives over the recklessness portrayed in the clip.

"The Sacco is Umoinner, The matatu is Dudu Mbaya, The registration is KDH112E, The makanga is Katana. Courtesy of Sikika, @ntsa_kenya kazi kwenu," Muli's tweet read. Shortly after that, the NTSA announced that the driver and touts had been nabbed.

"The driver and the 2 conductors have been arrested. They will be charged accordingly," the authority affirmed.

One section of Kenyans lauded the move, stating that action was needed to restore sanity on the route but a large majority of netizens called out the whistleblower for potentially ruining an avenue of income for the crew.

"Good one may they serve as a lesson to the unruly rest," Nichy Illumy stated.

"Great work NTSA...the thugs in the so called nganyas are increasing day in day out...the decide where to make a stage as picking and dropping point, they feel entitled...these people should be taught a lesson," one user stated.

Muli was taunted for his actions, with many shunning him for what they termed as snitching.

"Why expose them ? And spoil someone’s business ? He didn’t endanger anyones life," another Twitter user named Timoh Kim stated.

"I hope you are glad that 2 families have now lost their livelihood. This goes on in our roads on a daily, difference is that this was recorded," another user chimed.

The suspects are set to appear in court soon.
