Nigerian Songstress Alleges Ill Treatment By Kenyan Event Organizers Thrift Social

Nigerian Afro-fusion singer and songwriter Fave took to social media to lament on ill treatment by one promoter company called Thrift Social. Fave alleged ill-treatment while in Kenya for a concert at Hidden Gardens in Karen.

The singer complained that the  Kenyan promoters left her and her crew stranded in Nairobi.

“Kenyan fans thank you so much for the love but this has to be the worst hostile treatment we’ve ever received by show promoters. The last act of wickedness was canceling our flights back to Lagos. No love.” She stated.

She left the country on Tuesday at 5:15 am via Rwanda Air disappointed at the canceled air ticket and refusal to pay her dues by the event agency, thrift social.

On what was her maiden trip to Kenya, the hitmaker only experienced woes.

Fave, also known as God’s Favour Chidozie arrived in the country on Friday and was booked at the Ibis hotel where Thrift Social had procured accommodation for her and the crew.

For the three days, they would be in Kenya the agreement was that Thrift Social would foot their accommodation transport, and food bills.

All hell broke loose when she was asked to check out of the hotel room on Saturday morning. Little did she know that Thrift Social had only paid for a night’s stay at the Ibis Hotel.

“They knew they were booked until they would depart for Nigeria but Ibis informed them the promoter had only booked accommodation for a night. When they called the organizers the promoters started taking them in circles.” a source told journalists.

For the next nights, the songstress and her team had to foot their own bills. They checked into Edmor Suites where they paid sh.18000 per night.

On the day of the event, the event organizers sent a vehicle to pick up the singer. She however declined to seek a settlement of the pending bills of 215,680 shillings first.

The promoters only sent 180,000, promising to clear the remaining balance after the performance.

After the show, the event company refused to clear the dues and canceled the Kenya Airways tickets they would use to depart Nairobi for Lagos at 6:15 PM.

Fave has warned people from partnering with Thrift Social Nairobi and termed the experience a ‘lesson well learned.
