Investigations launched Into Death of Police Commissioner Found Dead At Home

Security agencies in Homa Bay County have launched investigations into the mysterious death of Mbita Sub-County Police Commissioner Moranga Morekwa whose body was found inside his house in Mbita Town, Homa Bay County.

According to media reports, the police boss' demised came hours after he led security agencies in the county in a crackdown against the illegal production and sale of illicit brew.

Homa Bay County Commissioner Moses Lilan stated that Morekwa's death came as a shock to the police force as the deceased did not show any signs of prior illness.

Mourning the late Sub-County commissioner's death, Suba North Member of Parliament Millie Odhiambo highlighted Morekwa's role in ensuring security in the county and Lake region in general.

The lawmaker further noted that the deceased officer played a major role in extinguishing the sexual exploitation of young girls in the region.

“We worked very well on the issue of promoting general and lake security; and eradicating sexual exploitation of young girls, amongst other pertinent issues. My condolences to the family and loved ones. May his soul rest in eternal peace,” Millie Odhiambo stated.

Morekwa's body was moved to the Kirindo MED 25 mortuary, Suba North constituency pending a postmortem.
