Ruto’s Maiden Speech As President-Elect

After the Supreme Court of Kenya dismissed the petition filed by the Azimio team, William Samoei Ruto held a press briefing at his Karen residence.


He gave a special vote of thanks to friends and family and members who have joined from other political parties who have walked the journey with him.


Dr.Ruto promised to work hard and not let down the citizens of Kenya. He has appreciated and congratulated Kenyans who have believed in his quest to be president. 


“The legendary mama mboga and bodaboda guys, they are the real heroes of our campaign, “he said.


“By voting for me, the millions who woke up early to go and vote, they have not only for me but have also opened doors and gates for their own  children in every village and every neighbourhood”


He stated that his election as president gives hope to millions of Kenyans that anyone can be a leader and every child is free to dream and aspire to any office. Through working hard and believing in God they can get where they want to go.


He has also declared the end of a lengthy and suspenseful electioneering period following the unanimous decision of the Supreme court to uphold the elections.


“My fellow presidential candidates and I  made our case before Kenyans and submitted ourselves to their sovereign decision at the ballot . ”

He saluted the judges of the Supreme Court who did their duties with utmost fidelity to the constitution.


“Their professionalism has elevated the state of the judiciary,” he said.


He has reiterated that his competitors have nothing to worry about because he is not vengeful.


He also stated that all Kenyans will be catered to equally regardless of whether they voted or whoever they voted for.


He called for unity amongst all Kenyans and his worthy opponents.


He insisted the hero of the election is Wafula Chebukati and the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission.



He also stated that the president incumbent shall be treated with decorum befitting a former head of State.


He was in the company of his family, the deputy-president elect and his legal team
