Deputy President William Ruto and his Kenya Kwanza brigade have now said they will not be intimidated by threats from their competitors as well as the government.

Speaking to residents and leaders from Trans Nzoia county at the Kitale Club on Sunday, May 8, Ruto assured the residents he was ready to face off with rivals in the August 9 Election pledging that  Kenya Kwanza will sign a charter with the people of Trans Nzoia ahead of the elections.

“Our competitors are selling fear. I am told they are telling locals they will lose land. Tell them you will not buy fear and to look for an agenda to sell to the people,” Ruto lamented.

He further stated that the Kenya Kwanza team is changing the political discourse by engaging ordinary Kenyans in their counties promising that his administration will reduce the cost of fertilizer from Ksh 6,000 to Ksh2,500 as the planting season approaches.

Ruto who was speaking in the company of ANC party leader Musalia Mudavadi and Ford Kenya's Moses Wetang'ula also noted that his administration will deliberate the government programmes that will create jobs for the Kenyan youth.

“Trans Nzoia and Uasin Gishu among other counties are food baskets of Kenya and we will not allow subdivision of land,” he added.

Ruto's sentiments follow barely a day after Interior CS Fred Matiang'i threatened to spill the beans on Ruto regarding his duties in the government.

The Kenya Kwanza leaders also called out ODM leader Raila Odinga accusing him of betraying the Western region.
