Flow of traffic within the Nairobi City Central Business District (CBD) is set to be disrupted following the temporary closure of Haile Selassie Avenue, between the Haile Selassie roundabout and Parliament Road.

In a notice dated Friday, April 5, 2024, the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) announced that the road will remain closed from Friday, April 5 at 10pm to Saturday, April 6 at 5 am.

The roads authority announced that the temporary closure will allow for the installation of service ducts.

KeNHA advised members of the public operating within the said hours to follow a traffic flow plan issued by the agency, as well lias with traffic police officers and county government marshals on site.

Kenyans hoping to access Uhuru Highway and other roads in uptown Nairobi are also advised to use alternative routes during the said period.

The announcement comes at the back of numerous ongoing road construction, maintenance and rehabilitation projects currently ongoing within the capital.

Motorists are advised to be careful and watch out for construction materials along the roads that may cause damage to their vehicles or cause accidents.
