Twitter Former Owner Jack Dorsey Launches New Social Media Platform

 

Hardly, one week after the Twitter app was purchased by billionaire and meta-business owner Elon Musk, founder of Twitter Jack Dorsey has already launched another social media app.

The sale saw Jack Dorsey bag $44 billion from the deal.

The new platform has already signed up 30,000 people who will be part of its piloting program before it is released to the market.

Jack Dorsey’s company announced that it is enlisting users for the beta testing

This project has been considered as a replacement or alternative to Twitter and other meta businesses such as Facebook, Instagram, and Snapchat.

According to the owner, the app will be free from government interference. Jack Dorsey further stated that it was created as the solution to Twitter's failures.

One of Bluesky’s main selling points is the AT Protocol technology that gives users control of their algorithms rather than being commercialized by a corporation.

“We’re calling the application we’re building Bluesky because it will be a portal to the world of possibility on top of the AT Protocol,” Dorsey stated.

The app’s code will allow the user account to be moved from platform to platform.

This way users can use their account to log in to any social media account that adopts the new code. As a result, a single account will give users access to all of their favorite social media.

For example, if you were not satisfied with YouTube’s automatic recommendations, you could use another platform that employs a different recommendation algorithm. I’m

Jack Dorsey served as the CEO of Twitter for a short stint before stepping down. During his ouster, Parag Agarwal took over as CEO.

He was however fired after Elon Musk completed the takeover of Twitter. Elon Musk also fired the chief financial officer and top lawyer.

Elon Musk is set to slash about 3,700 jobs at Twitter, representing about half of the company’s staff.

So far, there is no date for the service to be fully rolled out.
