Erling Haaland scored a brace and gave an assist for the third giving Norway a win against their neighbours Sweden in a 3-2 victory in the Nations League at the Ullevaal Stadium in Oslo on Sunday.

The 21-year-old striker expressed the win as impressive adding that it was his first time to play for a sold-out Ullevaal saying that to win against Sweden in the last match of the season was beautiful.

Haaland, who has been linked to Manchester City from Borussia Dortmund this summer, gave Norway the lead in the 10th minute by heading in a near-post cross.

City moved quickly to pull off the deal of the transfer window before it had even opened by confirming they had agreed on a deal with Borrusia Dortmund for the signing of Haaland. The Blues will pay a transfer fee of £51million but additional fees will take the whole package up to approximately £86million.

He converted another one from the spot in the 54th minute after Hjalmar Ekdal fouled Alexander Sorloth. Haaland has played for his country 18 times with 20th international goals.

Emil Forsberg gave Sweden hopes eight minutes after getting a clear assist from Dejan Kulusevski.

Haaland then crossed for Sorloth to head home and restore the host's two-goal lead after 77 minutes.

Viktor Gyokeres gave the Swedes brief hope by rifling home a shot five minutes into added time.

Norway coach Stale Solbakken pumped praise to his team terming the win a great show to the country and the fans.

"Sweden are better offensively than defensively at the moment...I think we were the better team but it was important to get the early goal. It gave us a mental boost."

The victory gave Norway 10 points after four matches in Group B4. They lead second-place Serbia, who play away to Slovenia later Sunday, by four points and Sweden by seven.
