Paul Pogba will miss the World Cup tournament in Qatar as he is still recovering from a knee injury he suffered in July.

France will begin their tournament on November 20 against Australia before competing against Denmark and Tunisia in the tournament's group stage.

"Following yesterday's and today's medical review in Torino and Pittsburgh, it is extremely painful to inform Paul will still need recovery time from his surgery. For this reason, Paul will not be able to join the Juventus squad before the World Cup break nor the French National Team in Qatar.’ said his agent Rafaela Pimenta.

He noted that Paul Pogba was working towards getting back to the pitch for his fans and team as soon as possible.

Initially, Paul Pogba had opted out of the meniscus surgery but later changed his mind and went to surgery in September, hoping to fully recover for the World Cup.

The 29-year-old was one of the critical players in the 2018 world-cup winning. Pogba has made 91 appearances for France, contributing 11 goals and nine assists in the process.

N’Golo Kante was also ruled out for the World Cup due to surgery he underwent on his injured hamstring that will see him out of the pitch for four months.

Paul is one of the 12 Juve players currently not in action. He has not played for Juventus since resigning from Manchester United.

The knee injury is just one of the woes Paul Pogba is embroiled in. He is also involved in a blackmail scandal investigation. Unconfirmed reports allege that he was the victim of extortion from his brother and friends.

Pogba revealed to investigators that the group planned to defraud him of 13 million euros by accusing him of using witchcraft against his France teammate Kylian Mbapp’e.

The tournament in Doha is set to kick off on  20th November.
