Comedian Chipukeezy has set the record straight regarding the public falling out between him and fellow comedian Kartelo, maintaining that they had never been at loggerheads, despite claims that they even unfollowed each other on social media.

The comedian was speaking to local YouTube sensation Mungai Eve who had inquired about the current state of their relationship after their falling out became public when they both left Ebru TV after their show ended, and their appearances together reduced drastically.

Chipukeezy came correct and pinned their lack of communication on his commitments, especially after he traveled for his comedy tour to the United States of America in 2021, and also on the Covid-19 pandemic that led him to take a step back from the limelight and focus on his local projects that are ongoing at his homeplace in Tala.

He maintained that he and the Kayole-based comedian have remained friends throughout, saying that he views Kartelo more like a brother and testified that he stood with him during dark times such as the death of his grandfather when he was abandoned by his friends in the comedy industry.

In fact recently on Tuesday, May 17, the two linked up after almost one year, where Chipukeezy posted a photo posing with Kartelo stating that it was awesome seeing him again.

“@kartelo_official it was nice to see you after a long time and thanks for accepting to be my running mate, indeed this is the winning team, mbogi bado kimonyoski,” Chipukeezy wrote.

The post came as a surprise for their fans and supporters who have been championing a reunion since the show ended.

“Chipo please don’t stress Kartelo. From the 1st day I met him I knew he was a fine young man,  mbogo ni ya kimonyoski" local musician Vivian commented.

“Brotherhood comes first ” another user named Mijeledy stated.

This follows an exclusive interview by Kartelo in February where he implied that they were not on speaking terms

“We don’t talk nowadays, so I was not even aware when he came back from the US. We don’t talk or work together anymore. These things do happen. Ni issues tu za watu.(It's just people's issues) But we are not on good terms, I will not go into the details.

"But I respect him very much because he has helped me a lot, and in the process, we have also helped each other, we passed through a lot together. So out of that respect, I can’t even beef with him," Kartelo revealed stated.
