14 People Ruto Considering For Prime Jobs Including Cabinet Posts

Having been legitimately declared as president-elect and deputy president-elect by the Supreme Court, the duo’s first assignment would be to form a cabinet.

Assembling a cabinet is not a picky picky ponky business. Far from that history has shown that these positions are correctly calculated and awarded to party loyalists, politicians who backed the campaigns of the incoming president, and technocrats who master-minded election strategies and campaigns.

Some of these positions are claimed while forming political coalitions way back during the campaign season.

During the campaigns, Willaim Ruto promised that 50 percent of the positions would go to women. He also promised a third of the positions to Western Kenya as Mt.Kenya leaders also maintain they significantly contributed to the Ruto-Gachagua win.

According to the constitution, the cabinet comprises the president, deputy president, and the attorney General, and not less than fourteen yet not more than twenty-two cabinet secretaries stewarding different state departments.

•Musalia Mudavadi-Prime Cabinet Secretary

Mr.Musalia Mudavadi was promised the previously non-existent post when he defected from Raila’s One Kenya Alliance and to Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza Alliance together with Moses Wetangula of Ford-Kenya.

Moses Wetangula on the other hand will contest for speaker of the National Assembly.

•Kithure Kindiki-Attorney General

He lost to Rigathi Gachagua during the selection of the running mate position.Professor Kithure Kindiki is a seasoned lawyer and the custodian of the Kenya Kwanza Agreement.

•Simon Cheluguii-Water, Sanitation and irrigation

•Charles Keter -Cabinet Secretary Energy

•Alfred Mutua-Permanent Secretary ICT

The former governor of Machakos County revealed that he had been offered a deputy chief minister position under Musalia Mudavadi hence defecting from Raila’s camp.

•Ababu Namwamba-Principal Secretary Foreign Affairs

•Seth Panyako-Principal Secretary Health

•David Ndii-Treasury Principal Secretary

David Ndii,an economist by profession,  drove the bottom-up economic model that ended up forming the manifesto of the Kenya Kwanza team. He has provided economic advice in the 2002 Narc government and in Raila’s 2017 presidential campaigns.

•Julius Mathenge-Principal Secretary for Agriculture

•Oscar Igaida-Principal Secretary for Devolution and planning
