Former Police boss Hon. Charles Owino Wahongo has today, Wednesday, May 18 dropped out of the Siaya gubernatorial race where he was to deputize former Rarieda MP Nicholas Gumbo after he was recalled to service months after he resigned.

In a letter signed by police Inspector General Hillary  Mutyambai, the police service noted that Owino's resignation letter stood vacated, adding that he had been granted 7 days to reply to the letter posting him as the Director, Kenya National Focal Point on Small Arms and Light Weapons(KNFPoSALp).

His new role will be a promotion from his earlier position where he served as deputy director of the police service
