Kenyans have taken a particular interest in the life of the Tourism Cabinet Secretary Najib Balala who seems to be out and about enjoying his stint in the government, which has stunned many over his unbothered nature over the political climate being experienced in the country.

The CS is currently on a hiking expedition on Mt Kenya and he posted a photo on his social media pages of him celebrating his climb to the summit of the mountain, which is among one of the Magical Kenya campaigns by the Kenyan Wildlife Service(KWS) in conjunction with his ministry to champion local tourism in the country.

"I made it to the summit of Mt. Kenya! At 06:50 AM, 17th May 2022 #ZuruMtKenya #MagicalKenya," Balala captioned the photo.

Kenyans were quick to comment on how unconcerned he seems over the politics of the country, especially since this is unlike him, owing to his history in previous elections where he was actively campaigning for various candidates.

Many Kenyans are of the opinion that this may be a tactic to secure his job, by refraining from pledging allegiance to any political faction in a bid to remain serving in the next government.

"Isn't it admirable how unbothered this man is with what is happening at the "foot" of this mountain? Has been silent all this time, taken no side not seen in any political arena just minding his own business," one user named Timothy Joseph stated.

"I just love how our minister is busy minding his own business and working as usual despite all the commotion going around," another user stated.

"This guy is always a lucky guy, doesn't pick any political sides, you never hear him talking about politics but still gets employed by the Government that takes over," another opined.

Some joked that he had managed to metaphorically outdo the current political formations currently in contention over the Mt Kenya region by scaling the mountain.

"Najib doing what Azimio and UDA are having sleepless nights about. Climbing the mountain," Mr Morale quipped.

Unlike his counterparts in the Ministry of Interior Fred Matiangi and ICT's Joe Mucheru who are vocal about their affiliations in the political scene, Balala seems to be playing his cards close to his chest,  only working to ensure that he fulfills his duties in the government.
