Marijuana Flour Creates Alternative Ugali Amid Soaring Maize Flour Prices

Roots Party Deputy President candidate Justina Wamae has raised unconventional idea of substituting Ugali to Marijuana flour as the cost of living sends the prices soaring.

Speaking during the Deputy Presidential Debate held at the Catholic University of East Africa on Tuesday, Wamae noted that their preferred canna flour will offer a solution to maize and wheat shortage in the country at an affordable price if they clinch the top seat.

"For a Kenyan who can't afford a packet of unga, I want to tell them, marijuana also gives flour, we can look at the alternatives," said Wamae.

She added, "Marijuana can cook Ugali as an alternative to increased prices just within one year period in office.

According to the Wajackoyah's running mate, Cannaflour is one of the quickest ways to infuse anything you’re making with cannabis and can be used in a variety of dishes, from baked goods to dredging meats, and anything else you can crave.

This comes even as the government has subsidised the price of maize flour to Ksh.100 for a two-kilogramme packet in a deal with millers aimed at diffusing public outrage over the high cost of living as Kenyans go to the ballot.

According to a statement by the Agriculture Ministry on Monday, the new prices will run for four weeks.

However, hours later in other reports the millers have expressed dissatisfied with the government's move to subsidize the product saying there is no deal reached so far.

At the moment, the ministry of Agriculture and the millers will hold engagements on how to bring down the cost of Unga set to continue later this week.

The Roots Party maintained that in their tenure when elected they will aim to reduce import cost for agricultural produce.

Within their one-year period in office, their government will encourage farmers to practice all kinds of farming including marijuana in a bid to restore back the economy.

"The idea of farming marijuana will cut off brokers for famers to get their pay to ensure that the commodities are sold at agreed prices," she said.

Wamae also said that marijuana seeds can produce cooking oil.
