Former Nairobi governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko has maintained that the woman who sued him for child support would not be receiving a penny from him as he claims that she is out to blackmail him.

Sonko alleged that he had knowledge of the woman's extortion tactics of using her children to acquire lump sum amounts of money for their upkeep that is then used to sustain her lifestyle.

He further asked the lady to bring the 15-year-old girl to him if she was indeed his daughter, as he would take care of her without having him pay up the Kshs 448,450 that she is alleging is required to cater to her expenses.

"Just like Jesus said, “Let children come to me...” I'm kindly asking the lady alleging that she has my 15-year-old kid to bring the kid to me just the same way her two other kids Jabali and Riley were recently taken from her by her ex-boyfriend Austin who now stays with them at Langata," he stated through his Facebook account.

"I will give the kid the best of what life has to offer. My family keeps on growing bigger every day and I feel happy and blessed adopting orphans, street families, and neglected kids, and bringing them into my home," he added.

He vehemently refused to be roped into the alleged scam, as he believed that the lady required the money to fund her partying lifestyle and preferred having the girl in his care whether or not she was his biological daughter.

"I will not give her any shilling to be used for partying.  Even if the kid is not mine, just bring her to me and I will take good care of her," he added.

The woman, on Monday, May 23, filed the lawsuit against the former governor at a magistrate court in Ngong over his failure to pay child support, approximately Kshs 448,450 to cater for food and shopping, rent, security, clothing, and house help, entertainment, medical cover, education, transport, and utilities.

She wants the court to force Sonko to pay school fees of Kshs 86,000 and another Kshs 30,450 to cater for school-related expenses and uniforms and provide medical cover and upkeep for the girl.

The lady told the court that she met Sonko in 1999 and was in a romantic relationship with him till 2007 when they got the child.
