A man named Silas Wanjeru has vowed to make the long journey from Nakuru to Nairobi to deliver a special gift to Deputy President William Ruto, one that he will make on foot pushing a life-size sculpture of the DP on a wheelbarrow.

Wanjeru who is an ardent supporter of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party in true solidarity has vowed to show his allegiance to DP Ruto by making the long journey using the party's symbol, to show his gratitude to the man he says has been committed to solving Kenya's problems.

“The last destination is William Ruto’s home. This gift is my way of appreciating Ruto’s hard work and commitment to solving Kenya’s problems,” stated the sculptor, who pointed out that he had been working on the sculpture for four years.

"I started this job four years ago, and I have gained fame over time owing to my association with President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy, Ruto.

“I will walk through the rain and the cold. We expect the DP to unite us if elected in the August 9 polls,” he explained.

When asked about the durability of the piece in the adverse weather conditions that he is bound to face in his journey, he explained that the sculpture was made to withstand water damage and also that it has been made using material that protects it from sunlight.

This is not the first time the Tumsifu resident from Nakuru County had made the headlines because, in 2019, he made a similar sculpture for President Uhuru and delivered it at Harambee House in Nairobi.

“In 2019, I was in the spotlight for delivering a similar sculpture to Uhuru. I pray that Ruto will gladly receive my gift wholeheartedly,” he stated.
