It appears as if the Iron Lady is coming out of her shell as Azimio One Kenya presidential running mate Martha Karua on Friday, June 24, met with the man behind the viral impersonation of her during the formation's political rallies.

Kenyans were left in stitches after the video made rounds online of the man identifying as Joe Nyokabi making a hilarious impression of the prospective Deputy President where he mimicked Karua's campaign slogans that are often enveloped in her Kikuyu accent.

Karua met with Nyokabi in a youth forum held in Nairobi and she thanked him for making light of her slogans as it came with a new wave of popularity that would be critical in championing the Azimio agenda among the youth, highlighting some of the issues that the Raila Odinga-led government would prioritize , such as job security for university graduates.

"Harooooooo! It was a pleasure meeting Nyokabi Joe, a young creative who is from my home county of Kirinyaga. Thank you Joe for giving us much-needed laughter and reminding us that indeed, Raila Odinga ni msarendo," she stated on her social media account.

Many Kenyans online congratulated her for taking the high road and taking the joke, that had been turned into a tool to ridicule her with the claim that she was too repetitive in articulating her party's agenda and had nothing substantial to offer her supporters.

"Well done Mum! We are so proud of you and indeed we are going to be in a safe pairs of hands, we believe in you!!!" a Twitter user named Tom Mboya stated.

"Using ridicule for your own benefit....Nice move," Fasbuk001 remarked.

Others saw it as a PR stunt to market Azimio to the youth as the Azimio faction has been particular about amping up its approval within the younger generations that have been targeted by rival political faction Kenya Kwanza.

"The Harroo Movement is now the official Marketing tool for Azimio among the young people. When life sends you lemons. Make lemonade. Harrooo!" Hyimmoni Himo stated.

"They thought they were bantering us. Now we have a slogan against them. Soon they won't cope with the Haroo Asimio wave. Baba ni msarendo, tumpee kura kwa wingi.( Baba is a patriot, let us vote for him ) " another Twitter user stated.

Others were generally impressed at the no-nonsense leader's take on the matter as it portrayed her in a new light that was appealing to the electorate.
