Kenya is an investment hub for many countries and investors seeking to reap maximum benefits from the country's opportunities.

1)Safaricom PLC-It is the leading mobile network in Kenya.It made its entry into Kenya in the year 1997 as a fully owned subsidiary of Telkom Kenya.

Safaricom offers mobile telephony, mobile money transfer, consumer electronics, e-commerce, cloud computing, data, music streaming, and fibre optic services. 

Safaricom has received many awards by recruiting companies on being the best employer.Michael Joseph was the founding CEO followed by Bob Collymore and the current Peter Ndegwa.

2)East Africa Breweries Limited-The business was founded in 1992. The market is mainly concentrated around Kenya ,Uganda, Tanzania, and South Sudan.EABL supplies beer to over ten countries in the region.

The company sub-contracts farmers to supply barley for production of beer.

EABL’s products includes beers and spirits such as Kenya Cane,Uganda Waragi and Smirnoff X1.

For the year ending June 2022,EABL made profits amounting to 15.6 Billion.

3)Equity Bank-Equity bank started as a provider for mortgage financing for the low income bracket population..It is widely distributed throughout the country with a total number of 173 branches.

Equity bank has received lacal and global recognition for its performance .The equity business model(low margin-high volume) is studied in some business schools.

The CEO James Mwangi has stewarded the company to great heights through strategic partnerships ,philantropy and Corporate Social Responsibility programme such as the Wings to fly programme.

4)British American Tobacco-the company manufactures cigarettes both for the local and the international market.BAT entered the market in 1907 and is now the leading manufacturer of Tobacco.

5)KENGEN-Deals in electric power generation in East Africa.

It was incepted in 1957 and now commands a market share of 65%.

Other top companies in Kenya include; Nation Media Group, Toyota Kenya, Bamburi Cement, Kenya Airways, Kenya Commercial Bank, and Total Kenya.
