Wiper party leader and the self-proclaimed Ukambani kingpin Kalonzo Musyoka has hinted that the possibility of having former Transport Chief Administrative Secretary Wavinya Ndeti as the sole gubernatorial candidate for the Machakos county in the next election is deemed.

Kalonzo while in Masinga Speaking on Sunday, said that he will initiate mediate talks with former State House Chief of Staff Nzioka Waita to have him support Wanyinya’s candidature.

“Mimi ninafuraha ya kuona team ya Wiper iko strong, muwaangalie vizuri. Hao wengi ni vijana wetu. Bwana Nzioka my friend, I will talk with him. Kwa sasa mwaona Wavinya ako sawa sawa,” he told the supporters when he hosted Azimio presidential candidate Raila Odinga.

The Azimio la Umoja -One Kenya plans that at the end of June, it will strive for one sole candidate zoning out the candidates affiliated to their field with a potential to challenge their favourite candidates in areas where there are many aspirants.

Speaking during a meeting in Murang’a on Saturday, Martha Karua, the Deputy President candidate for Azimio la Umoja observed that having one candidate will assist the Alliance to have many elected leaders.

She observed that the Coalition Party will conduct open negotiations with all aspirants and agree to support whoever is popular.

Karua had been selected among the top three candidates suitable for the job by the Azimio running mate selection panel after a two-day interview in the last month.

She had announced her interest in making a second stab at the Kirinyaga governor seat under the Narc-Kenya ticket before being named Raila’s second in command.

Karua being the former Prime Minister’s running mate is in the President Uhuru Kenyatta August 9 succession race with UDA party leader and Deputy President William Ruto, Roots Party’s George Wajackoyah and David Mwaure of the Agano Party.

Although the public handshake signified a political truce between Mr Odinga and his arch-rival President Uhuru Kenyatta and brought calm and a sense of relief in Kenya following disputed elections the deputy president has a hold on his stand that the agreement is a fault and has led Kenya to a poverty zone.
