Police Launch Investigations into Mysterious Death of UDA MCA Nominee

Police have launched a probe into the mysterious death of a United Democratic Alliance (UDA) nominated  MCA aspirant who was found unconscious in the middle of the road on Saturday, May 7.  

The politician identified as Mark Bowen alias Sawachan was found along the Eldoret-Malaba road before being rushed to the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) in Eldoret where he was later pronounced dead upon arrival.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the deceased who was last spotted alive on Friday, May 6, was found with serious head injuries and a broken leg.

Confirming the incident, the Uasin Gishu police commander Ayub Gitonga, told the press that investigations into the matter had been launched adding that in the fullness of time the circumstances in which the politician lost his life will be revealed to the public.

His death comes barely a month after he was awarded the UDA ticket to contest for the MCA position in Sambirir ward.

A section of politicians such as Elgeyo-Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen who expressed that he was shocked to learn of the politician's mysterious death called for speedy investigations into the matter.

“He had won the nomination and had a promising future in politics. This is a sensitive issue and we are calling the police to unearth the cause of his death. At the same time, we should not speculate because it is in the best interests of the family, supporters, and friends to be told the truth,” he lamented.
