Kilimani Police have confirmed that the three suspects who were lynched by an angry mob after a botched robbery in Kasarani on Saturday,June 25 were linked to the Adams Arcade shooting that shook the country two weeks ago.

This was after ballistic examination of a pistol recovered from the scene of crime at the Marurui area  revealed that it was the same one used in the botched robbery attempt at Adams Arcade that led to the deaths of two traders.

The suspects' deaths were confirmed by Kilimani Police Commander Andrew Mbogo who revealed that they were back to the notorious ways despite being on the police's radar, staging an attack at another Mpesa shop in Marurui area where they made away with Kshs 900,000 on a motorbike.

According to the robbery victim Joseph Kariuki Ng’ang’a, the three suspects attacked him with a gun at around 10pm as he was closing, forcing him to chase them using his vehicle as he raised alarm by incessant hooting pleading with members of the public to help him corner them.

It did not take long for the irate citizens to close in on them, beat them and set them ablaze before the police made it at the scene.

Upon arrival the law enforcers were met with the suspects' bodies and they also recovered the firearm believed to be in their possession that was used in the investigations.

This comes during the spike in mob lynchings by members of the public frustrated by the rise in crime in the country who opt to take the law into their hands and handle the criminals themselves.

On Sunday June 26, a man in Kileleshwa was left with a disfigured dental arrangement after attempts to run away from a robbery he and his fellow gang members had committed flopped. The thugs had cornered businessmen and were on their getaway motorcycle but angry boda boda operators caught up with them and beat them to a pulp before being rescued by DCI officers.
