Former Citizen TV news anchor and reporter Jacqueline Maribe has revealed that she had suffered a series of miscarriages before her son with comedian Eric Omondi was born.

Taking to her instagram page, Maribe narrated how one day her colleague made fun of her mood swings while on a trip to South Africa, not realising that she was pregnant.

Maribe, who is currently battling a murder-related charges alongside her one time lover Jowie Irungu, says the pregnancy of her son, Zahari, was a blessing and she was very keen and grateful for it after the miscarriages.

"One day, while in South Africa, a good friend of mine Brian Baraka told me "uko na mood swings kama za mtu ako na mimba (You have mood swings like a pregnant woman)," she narrated.

All this time, she had not revealed to anyone that she was expectant and she was keen to not following her previous ordeals.

"We laughed, but to be honest, it was the hardest trip I did, I was throwing up literally all the time. But I didn't think I could have been pregnant. Because baby's daddy, Eric Omondi, had said we wait a while."

On her coming back from the trip, her friends had organised a party for her at the famous Rafikiz Restaurant in Nairobi's low middle class estate, Langata. Her mother was also part of the party.

"Then I came back home on my birthday. Wambo Shiks, my childhood friend had organised friends at Rafikiz Langata. Even included my mother who came for me and took me to the spa for a treat," narrated the Jacque Maribe Show host.

She noted how some of her friends were happy for her since she was expectant and that was the reason behind the party.

"My friends were busy dancing and showing love."

"Then May 2014. See, I had gone through miscarriages. During this pregnancy, referring to Zahari's, every single day was a blessing. I chose 14th, and boom, this cute child of mine came," she added.

Ms Maribe says she is very particular about her son and how she brings him up in every way counts, adding she was very grateful she never lost him during her pregnancy.

"I am so invested in his well being. I am his mother not for the name but for his life. So many times I would have lost him during that pregnancy. So when you see me being an overly protective mum, you know. And anyone who harms my child is the devil reincarnated."

Before making it public, the question on who was Ms Maribe's son dad had elicited mixed reactions with people speculating on who it could be.
