Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula is poised to launch legal action against the Orange Democratic Movement party (ODM) over his involvement in ballot paper printing tender for the August elections.

In a surprising tweet seen Wednesday, July 7, Wetangula announced his decision to file a suit through lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi aiming to hold ODM accountable for what he has described as a political witchhunt  aimed at disparaging his name ahead of the polls.

"I have instructed SC Ahmednasir aka “The Mullah” to take legal action against Odm desperadoes to stop their reckless inanity against Weta & KK. Watajua hawajui!!

The Ford Kenya Leader is accused of lobbying and influencing the awarding of the tender to the Greek Firm, Inform Lykos.

Wetangula also hit back at the Azimio-One Kenya coalition candidate Raila Odinga over his threats to boycott elections.

Through his tweet, he accused Odinga of him not having faith in the Chebukati led commission.

“Political archives show there is no election the ODM candidate has contested without irritatingly shouting against the referee. Even when Supreme Court handed him a second chance, he shouted at IEBC and walked off,” said Wetangula.

On Wednesday July 6, the Azimio flag bearer Raila Odinga threatened to boycott the August elections if IEBC does not provide the manual back up voter register.

Senator Wetangula added, "After the Supreme Court ruling Raila boycotted the elections citing unsubstantiated grievances against IEBC. He is at it again but the elections will be held anyway."

According to Odinga, wants the electoral commission to avail a manual register alongside the electronic register in every polling station to ensure the elections are credible.

“Manual register is a must at every polling station. It is not negotiable and we are telling the IEBC that manual registers are a must along with biometric identification of voter’s failure to which there will be no elections,” said Odinga.

Raila was accompanied by his running mate Martha Karua among other leaders during campaign tour in Gatundu, Kiambu County.
